1. Why do we need to change the toilet?
80% of infectious diseases are caused by toilet feces pollution and unhygienic drinking water, and there are more than 30 types of infectious diseases related to feces, including dysentery, cholera, hepatitis, ascariasis, etc.
2. What is the purpose of renovating the toilet?
The main purpose of renovating toilets is twofold. Firstly, it can improve the sanitation situation in rural areas and enhance the quality of living environment for farmers. Secondly, feces contain various intestinal infectious bacteria and parasitic eggs. By improving toilets, feces can be treated harmlessly to kill parasitic eggs and bacteria, prevent intestinal infectious diseases and parasitic diseases, and protect the health of farmers.
3. How to carry out toilet renovation
Implement whole village promotion. Organized and implemented by project villages in various towns, parks, and offices. It is required to carry out toilet renovation around the bathroom. If the original septic tank can be renovated, each toilet renovation farmer should do a good job in cleaning the original septic tank. If the original septic tank cannot be renovated, excavation work for the new septic tank should be done well. Cover the open-air manure pits of pig farmers.
Principle of harmless treatment of feces in three format sanitary toilets:
The PE three grid septic tank is composed of three interconnected sealed septic tanks. Feces enter the first tank through the inlet pipe and flow through the pipe to the second and third tanks in sequence.
After entering the first pool, feces ferment, decompose, and liquefy. The heavier components naturally sink, gradually forming floating fecal skin, middle layer fecal liquid, and sinking fecal residue. Due to the higher density of parasite eggs compared to the mixture of feces and urine, they settle at the bottom of the septic tank. The ammonia and other substances produced by anaerobic fermentation decomposition of protein organic matter have the effect of killing parasitic eggs and bacteria. The fecal fluid with relatively fewer parasite eggs in the middle layer flows through the fecal tube to the second pool.
The second tank further ferments, decomposes, liquefies, and settles. Compared with the first tank, the amount of fecal skin and residue in the second tank has decreased, and the degree of fermentation and decomposition is lower. Due to the lack of new feces entering, the fecal liquid is in a relatively static state, which is conducive to the continued sinking of floating insect eggs in the tank.
The third pool mainly serves to store manure. The feces treated in the first two compartments enter the third pool and are basically free of parasite eggs and pathogenic microorganisms, meeting the requirements for harmless disposal of feces.
4. Three format harmless sanitary toilet usage precautions:
● Prepare supporting items: toilet paper basket, water bucket, water spoon, etc.
● Fresh feces should be poured into the first pool and not into the third pool.
● Prevent direct use of feces from the first and second pools, and insist on using feces from the third pool. The activity cover should be promptly closed.
● Clean the first and second pools of manure and residue from about six months to one year (do not ignite or smoke at the edge of the pool when cleaning or collecting manure to prevent biogas from exploding when exposed to fire). The cleared manure and residue should be treated harmlessly (can be treated by adding urea. Mix manure and urea in a ratio of 100:1 or 2, store for 2 or 1 day, and dilute with water when used).
● Rainwater and domestic water should not be discharged into septic tanks. Regularly check the third tank to prevent overflow of sewage.
● Even if the third pool of manure is not used, it cannot be directly discharged into the surrounding soil, rivers, lakes, and ponds.
