Denggao Participates in Su-Tong Bond & Landscape Affection Charity Event

    It is reported that Su-Tong Bond & Landscape Affection Charity Event will be held in Tongren, Guizhou Province on April 7. Chen Xiaoguang, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and renowned lyricist, specially inscribed the activity with the title of "On the Fields of Hope".

    This event is jointly organized by the Chen Xia Love Charity Foundation of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, the Propaganda Department of Tongren Municipal Committee of Guizhou Province, Tongren Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, Municipal Poverty Alleviation Office, Bijiang District People's Government, and Jiangsu Province's counterpart assistance work team in Tongren City, Guizhou Province. It is also co organized by Songtao County Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, and Tourism and Bijiang District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, and Tourism. The event will summarize and promote the outstanding achievements of poverty alleviation cooperation between Suzhou and Tongren in the eastern and western regions through various forms such as cultural performances, VCR short films, video links, host interviews, and material displays. It will further promote exchanges between non-governmental organizations in Suzhou and Tongren, enhance the emotions of the people in both places, fully stimulate the intrinsic motivation of gratitude and progress throughout Tongren, and better promote the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements and the effective connection between rural revitalization.

    It is reported that Suzhou and Tongren have established a counterpart assistance relationship since 2013, and have carried out comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging cooperation in economic, social, and livelihood development. Especially since April, 2017, when the Jiangsu Province paired up with Guizhou Tongren to carry out poverty alleviation cooperation work in the eastern and western regions, Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City have cumulatively supported Tongren with 1.71 billion yuan in financial funds, implemented 1,240 assistance projects, and covered 728,000 impoverished people; Various sectors of society donated over 240 million yuan in poverty alleviation materials to Tongren, benefiting 694 impoverished villages and 120,000 people in need. Jointly build 19 industrial and agricultural parks, attract 285 enterprises to invest 26.41 billion yuan in copper, and bring 44,000 people into poverty. The sales revenue of "Guizhou goods out of the mountains" reached 2.73 billion yuan, benefiting more than 114,000 impoverished households. Suzhou has sent a total of 420 party and government officials and 1,527 technical talents to Copper for exchange, and received 195 party and government officials and 3,788 technical talents from Tongren to come to Suzhou for exchange and study. Assisted over 42,000 impoverished laborers in Tongren to achieve employment, including 4,344 employed in Jiangsu and 31,000 employed locally. Suzhou has paired 102 towns (streets, development zones), 378 villages (communities, enterprises, social organizations), 468 schools, 136 hospitals to assist 119 impoverished townships, 416 impoverished villages, 579 schools, and 208 hospitals in Tongren, achieving full coverage of paired assistance for 319 deeply impoverished villages and schools and hospitals at or above the township level in Tongren. With the strong assistance of Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City, various districts (counties) under the jurisdiction of Tongren City have successively lifted their hats. The last deeply impoverished county, Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, officially announced its withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county sequence in November, 2020. Tongren City has achieved a decisive victory in its poverty alleviation campaign.
