"I never thought that after living for half of my life, I could still use a novel environmentally friendly toilet," said Tian Ruguang, a man in his fifties in Huolianzhai Village, Shichang Subdistrict, Songtao Autonomous County, looking at the uniquely designed and fully enclosed environmentally friendly toilet with satisfaction.
Tian Ruguang's family of six lives a worry free life, but their previous toilet experience was far from pleasant. Tian Ruguang said that in the paswhen they used a dry toilet, there were mosquitoes in summer, wind in winter, and strong odors.
In April of this year, Denggao Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. Guizhou Branch donated 50 environmentally friendly toilets to Huolianzhai Village through the Suzhou Chenxia Love Charity Foundation (including 20 households directly using bio-bacterial strains), which changed the troubles of Tian Ruguang's family when using the toilet.

"30 environmentally friendly toilets, 5 of which are public toilets, 25 are allocated to villagers, and my family has got one,” Tian Ruguang said. The eco-friendly toilets are equipped with septic tanks, bio-bacterial strains, and toilet houses. They are not only fully enclosed but also odorless, and thus being highly popular among local residents.
The village party secretary Tian Rumao introduced that the eco-friendly toilet is manufactured by Guizhou Branch of Denggao Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. The bio-bacterial strains can decompose excrement, and the treated water can be used as fertilizer.
Small toilets benefit people's livelihoods. In recent years, Songtao has regarded the rural "toilet revolution" as a major livelihood and ecological project, and has made every effort to promote toilet construction and renovation work, continuously improving the living environment and living standards of the general public. From 2018 to 2020, 3712 new (renovated) rural sanitary toilets were built, and 173 new (renovated) rural sanitary public toilets were built.
By solidly promoting the "toilet revolution" in rural areas, the popularity and coverage of rural household sanitary toilets and village level public sanitary toilets in the county have gradually increased. Toilet manure has been effectively treated, and toilets, flush toilets, and washbasins have entered rural areas, resulting in a significant increase in public satisfaction.
It is reported that Songtao will strengthen measures to fully promote the "toilet revolution", promote the rational layout of public toilets, advance the overall promotion of household toilets, improve rural sewage treatment capacity, gradually improve supporting facilities, guide the masses to cherish public toilets and use them in a civilized manner, and strive to create a good atmosphere of "everyone participates, co builds and shares, and jointly maintains".
At the same time, Songtao is exploring ways to establish a sanitary toilet manure removal service system and a manure residue and manure resource utilization system through government subsidies, such as entrusting local enterprises to cooperate in processing, daily processing by existing service units, and bottom-up processing by township governments, to ensure standardized maintenance, routine removal, and harmless utilization.
The person in charge of Denggao Environmental Protection Guizhou Branch introduced that the rural environmental toilets they produce not only have low cost, but also have lifelong maintenance free core technology after the release of biological strains. At present, another batch of environmentally friendly public toilets have been donated in Qingxi Village, Xiuwen County. The next step is to donate and install another batch in Dashu Village, Weining Autonomous County, to benefit more farmers.
